Roadtrip: Days 7-9

Saturday in Busselton dawned bright, clear, and cool. Nat and I had grand plans to go diving on the Jetty but we quickly scraped them in favor of brunch. #priorities

Brunch @ The Goose

We wandered around town for a bit and then checked out a few shops that Nat loves - including this really cool natural beauty products store called The Soap Factory - and then the girls did some more wine tasting at Settler's Ridge in Cowaramup. Back to our Airbnb for a rest and then we were off to the Good Day Sunshine music festival, the whole impetus for the trip.

Xavier Rudd and John Butler were the two big acts we were excited about and the weather held out til the very end of the concert - it started to rain just as the music was ending. Nat got a hug from Xavier Rudd, so everyone left happy!

Sunday morning was theoretically our second attempt at diving the Busselton Jetty, and practically it was our second day of bailing - this time because it was cold and rainy. We are lazy divers :)

We lazed around for a few hours in the morning and finally rallied for the Busselton Craft Market and more brunch, this time at The Good Egg. Nat and Wiebke both had work on Monday, so we slow rolled brunch, knowing they'd hit the road right afterwards. We were walking back to the cars around one o'clock when we happened upon a brewery that no one had heard of - Rocky Ridge Brewing. There were some cute guys sitting out front, there were musicians setting up for a live performance, and when all heads turned to Nat for a decision, she smirked at us and said, "ah, go on then." So that's how Nat and Wiebke ended up leaving for Perth three hours late.

Weronika and I stuck around to flirt with some 60ish year old men on a golfing bus trip (as you do) and then made our way to Margaret River (AKA Margs) for our next Airbnb.

Our Airbnb was set up with a detached bathroom which wasn't ideal for the rainy weather. But the view into a lush green garden while using it made up for the inconvenience.

Monday morning we needed a liver reset. It was a big weekend. So we started things off with a nice healthy breakfast, some laundry, and a wander around downtown Margs. When we popped back to the Airbnb, our host happened to be in the driveway and gave us some recommendations for a scenic hike in the area, along the Cape to Cape Track, that did NOT disappoint.

We found a little cave to explore
So many wildflowers
We intended to do a 30 minute walk, but it turned into a 4 hour hike with a return along the beaches we had been admiring from the cliff trail. We decided we had earned a big dinner, so off we went for some amazing house-made mushroom ravioli and beef carpaccio at La Scarpetta Trattoria in Margs. We were in bed and asleep before 9. Good good day.
